Director of the Institute for Sport Business @ Loughborough University London
James held academic appointments at three Australian universities prior to his appointment as the Director of the Institute for Sport Business at Loughborough University London. He has conducted research for international and national governing bodies, professional sporting organisations and the Australian Sports Commission. James is a visiting Professor at the Russian Olympic University, Beijing Sport University and Ulster University. He is a former board member and Director of Football Queensland, Australia, and has been nominated by the Australian Federal Government’s Minister for Sport to be Australia’s representative on the WADA Education Committee. He has a particular research interest in research design and methods for sport business, and is currently researching the use of contemporary spatial analysis to open up new research methods for studies into sports talent production and identification.
